By request of the "Canadian public", the Government of Canada caused CIRA to be created to take over administration of the CA Domain as of Oct, 2000, mandating it to simplify the previous three pages of regulations and procedures.

CIRA deactivated old .CA domains not fully re-registered with CIRA by Dec 1, 2000, and released them Feb 1, 2001 for registration by any applicant.

If your .CA domain is down, you've registered, but haven't received the ID and password that you need to CONFIRM your registration with CIRA, or if you simply need knowledgable advice, email from your FUNCTIONING email address, to:

registry@cs.utoronto.ca

Please provide a reasonable means of identity verification.

New registrations (including re-registration of old domains) may be submitted using the appropriate interface under:
